LANSING, MI — McLaren Greater Lansing last week began tearing down the oldest section of its former Greenlawn Avenue campus south of downtown Lansing.
The demo makes way for future projects at the Greenlawn campus. The original McLaren building at the site was built in 1929. The four-story hospital had been added on to several times through the decades.
“Today, demolition began on the original hospital to separate the remaining buildings and make way for the future of health care at our legacy campus on Greenlawn Avenue,” McLaren announced in a Facebook post on Thursday.
McLaren Greater Lansing opened the new $600 million McLaren Health Care Campus near Michigan State University in 2022.
