EAST LANSING, MI — Michigan State University men’s basketball will return to the Sweet 16 for the 16th time in head coach Tom Izzo’s career. The Spartans topped New Mexico 71-63 on Sunday night to advance to the next round of the NCAA basketball tournament.
Michigan State will now meet the 6 seed in the South Region, Ole Miss. Michigan State vs. Ole Miss will tip-off at 7:09 p.m. on Friday on CBS. The winner will advance to the Elite 8 to take on the winner of Michigan vs. Auburn.
Meanwhile, Michigan and Auburn will square off Friday at approximately 9:39 p.m. or shortly after the conclusion of Michigan State’s game versus Ole Miss.
